12.19.19-Identity

Morning Musings

My routine has been off this week due to a hectic performance schedule. But what I’ve loved learning the past few weeks is that cutting myself some slack often leads to more productive habits in the long run.

If I consider myself a writer, the one day I don’t write doesn’t ruin my identity, I just pick it up the next time.

Sometimes just considering things as a part of us can make it that much easier to stick with. If I verbalize the fact that I am a runner, well, if I miss a day, it’s okay.

As productive as this is, this can also be used negatively. So we must pursue and self evaluate things that we consider as a part of our identity.
